The Season of Gratitude — Finding Peace in What Remains

November 14, 2025 0 872
Gratitude isn’t about perfection — it’s about presence.

There’s something about November that always brings me home to gratitude.
Maybe it’s the slowing pace of the world, the golden light, or the soft pull to reflect on what truly matters

When I first began keeping a gratitude journal, I made it a simple nightly ritual. I would sit in my favorite chair — the same one where I prayed, reflected, and released — and write down five things I was grateful for that day.

At first, it was an exercise. A list. A task.
But slowly, something shifted.

I started seeing tiny miracles — the kind you only notice when you’re looking. I began recognizing how life was being orchestrated, how the dots connected, how the moments that once felt random were part of a much larger pattern.

Gratitude didn’t just change what I noticed — it changed how I lived.

“Gratitude is the spark of light that shifts us from fear to faith, from lack to having, and igniting potential into abundance.”
— Jodi Riley

From Gratitude to Joy

As my gratitude practice deepened, my life began to expand in unexpected ways.
Each day felt richer, fuller, more aligned. I started to find joy in even the smallest things — a kind word, a moment of quiet, the way light danced across the room.

And perhaps most beautifully, I began to trust that everything — even the detours and delays — was part of a divine design.

Gratitude shifted my perspective from lacking to having.
From what was missing to what was meaningful.
From striving to receiving.

How Gratitude Transforms Relationships

At one point, I invited my partner to join me in keeping a gratitude journal.
Each night, we’d each write down two things we were grateful for about the other — then share them aloud.

Within weeks, our relationship evolved.
We began looking for what was good in each other, and naturally, we found more of it.
Appreciation grew. Negativity faded.
We started communicating through gratitude — not criticism.

When that ritual stopped, the relationship slowly shifted again — a reminder that gratitude isn’t a one-time act; it’s an ongoing energy.

Gratitude nourishes connection, deepens love, and restores perspective.

The Coaching Truth

In my coaching practice, I see this pattern often:
High-achieving women who have accomplished so much, yet feel an undercurrent of exhaustion or emptiness.

And every time, gratitude becomes the bridge back to peace.

Gratitude softens what’s rigid.
It opens what’s closed.
It quiets the noise and brings you back to what’s real.

When my clients begin a gratitude practice — even just a few minutes a day — everything changes:

Their relationships soften.
Their inner dialogue becomes kinder.
Their confidence grows.
Their energy expands.
Their ability to receive love, clarity, and abundance returns.

Gratitude doesn’t just shift what you have.
It transforms who you become.

Gratitude and the Season of Thanksgiving

As Thanksgiving approaches, we’re invited to pause — not just to celebrate, but to see.

This season isn’t about the feast; it’s about the faith.
Not the tradition, but the transformation.

So, as you move through this month, ask yourself:

  • What beauty is already present in your life that you may have overlooked?
  • Who can you express appreciation for this week?
  • And what would shift if you chose to expect miracles — even in the small, ordinary moments?

Gratitude doesn’t deny what’s hard.
It simply reminds you that the story isn’t over yet.

Final Reflection

Gratitude isn’t pretending life is perfect — it’s trusting that it’s purposeful.
And when you live in that truth, you begin to see how every detail, every moment, every challenge fits together — not to break you, but to build you.

May this Thanksgiving season remind you that you are guided, supported, and deeply loved in ways you may not yet see.

With love and truth,
Jodi
